Layne Braunstein is an all around creative, with a focus on Motion Design and Animation.

Layne’s fresh broadcast work can be seen everywhere combining new illustration styles and insightful animation. His talents can be seen on many networks such as Disney, The N, Nickelodeon, Spike, USA Network, Noggin, Lifetime, TLC, USA, G4, and CNN. Layne was nominated for Best of Show at SXSW Interactive, holds a SEED Award for Best Flash Site, and his work is seen frequently on national and international design sites. His design for SubMedia.tv is featured in Wired magazine.

Before freelancing full time, Layne was the Creative Director at Bark Bark. Before that, Layne was the Senior UI Designer for the AT&T New Products Prototype Division.  He was also a Senior UI Designer for General Electric, Cox Communications, & Bellsouth. He has done the “.com” thing as well, and loved every Herman Miller chair minute of it.

In addition to the commercial work, Layne works as an artist, focused on pure design. His most current project, junkt.com, is the culmination of years of experimental art. It features dynamically created artwork that fuses video, graphics, and programming into several pieces. His attitude can also be seen in his contribution to the CRE824 competition.

Beyond the screen, Layne has a massive 24 foot installation piece on backlit red plexi-glass that can be seen at The Royal in downtown Atlanta and was featured in both Peach and Jezebel magazines.

Layne was featured/interviewed on Voice America’s “Design Matters with Debbie Millman” – Bad Boys of Design Episode. Check out the podcast.

He currently resides in New York City. So give him a shout if you are in the area.
