We ran across this gorgeous work titled iSaidIf by LIA recently. It is a piece from the Art Machines/Machines Art exhibit at the the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt. This is the kind of work that interactive artists strive to create. Simple trigonometry, beautiful colors, and intelligent audio work create a striking web of circular connections. Every touch on the screen creates an elegantly complex new linear composition that would take days to create by hand. I have been definitely leaning toward machine generated art for a long time, since i can be a little ADD with deciding on a compostion for my work. Â
Reminiscent of early Joshua Davis, but with a more minimalist approach; this work is worth the hour we speant interacting with it.  Don’t overlook the audio work on this as well, very Brian Eno’s Bloom.  This will definitely take up real estate on our flat screen during our next soiree.
Poke around LIA’s site as well. There is great work on there to explore.
Take Away
Though we love this piece, we found it hard to figure out what the bottom icons did- if anything. Â We understand this is an art piece, but once you involve another user besides the creator, the interaction should be self explanatory.Â
WHAT TO DO NOW?
